Zynk Cafe

Down here in Kalyani, life moves at its own pace. Zynk Cafe is our little spot where we spend most of our hours. It’s not a huge place with a lot of staff, just a few of us making sure things run right. We get a lot of younger people coming in because of the colleges around here, so it’s rarely quiet for long. The kitchen is small, so we have to be organized, or everything becomes a mess within ten minutes. We spend a lot of time cleaning the tables and making sure the fridge is stocked with enough milk and soda. The weather in West Bengal can get really humid, so the fans are always spinning at full speed. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything, just a simple place where you can get something to eat or drink. Sometimes the delivery guy is late and we have to apologize to the regulars, but usually, it’s okay. We’ve got a few chairs outside too, but people only sit there when the sun starts going down. It’s a lot of work, honestly. Between managing the supplies and making sure the floor is swept, there’s not much time for sitting around. We just like being part of the neighborhood here. It’s a decent way to make a living and we know most of the faces that come through the door by now. We try to keep it friendly and low-key for everyone.
