Ultratech Cement

Our office is located on Dr. Sachin Sen Road in the Radhanagar area of Krishnagar. It’s a decent spot, right where people pass through quite often. We’ve been operating out of this building for some time now. It isn’t anything too special to look at, just a functional space for managing the cement trade. We spend most of our time on the phone or writing down stock levels in our big notebooks. The street gets quite busy in the evenings, so we try to get most of the heavy work done before then. There’s a small tea stall just down the road where we usually go when things get too hectic. We deal with a lot of local builders who are working on houses around here. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up, especially when there are a lot of deliveries arriving at once. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the ropes. We keep the windows open most of the time to stay cool. It’s a lot of back-and-forth between the office and the trucks. We don't use any fancy systems, just a simple way of keeping track of what goes out and what comes in. The floor is concrete and we don't mind a bit of dust. It's just the way it is in this business. We like the location because it’s easy for people to stop by and we've gotten to know the regular drivers quite well in the time we've been here.
