Subnur Hotel is tucked away in the Dhubulia Battaladhulia area of Nadia. Giyas Uddin Halsana is the one who mostly looks after things here. We started this because there weren't many places for people to stay when they came to visit family or for local business in this part of West Bengal. It’s a quiet spot, mostly. We have a few rooms that we keep as clean as we can. It’s not a five-star place, and we don't pretend it is. We’re just local people running a hotel. Sometimes the market nearby gets very noisy, and you can hear the chatter from the street, but that's just how life is in Nadia. We don't have a website with fancy photos. What you see when you walk in is what you get. A bed, a fan, and a door that locks. We make sure there's water in the tanks and the lights work. If something breaks, we call the local guy to fix it. People who stay here are usually from nearby towns or traveling for weddings. We see a lot of different faces. We try to be polite and make sure nobody leaves hungry if they eat at our little dining area. It’s a simple operation. We put a lot of long hours into it, but it’s our work and we take it seriously in our own way. It's just a regular building in a regular village.
