Santi Cloth Stores

Santi Cloth Stores is located in the village of Duttapulia. We are right by the fish market, which means it is always lively and smells like the morning catch around here. If you are coming from the bridge, we are not far at all. Being in the Dhantala area, we serve a lot of people from the local villages. Our shop is filled with all kinds of cloth and ready-made items. We do not have any of those fancy computerized systems. We just know where everything is kept on the shelves. Most of our customers are looking for durable clothes for work or simple outfits for home. We talk to everyone who walks in, usually about the crops or the prices at the market. It is a very local way of doing business. Sometimes the rain makes the road outside quite muddy, but people still make their way to us. We have old wooden shelves that have been here since we first opened up. We do not really change much because the current way works fine for us. We open early in the morning when the fish market starts and stay until the sun goes down. It is a routine we have had for years. There is no big corporate plan here. We just try to have enough stock so that when someone needs a new dhoti or a shirt, they can find it right here in Duttapulia without traveling too far. It is just a village shop for village people.
