Kalim International

We are located at Mollar Chawk, which most people around here know as the Bombaywala Market. It is in Bhagabatipur, not too far from the main part of Kolkata, but far enough that the traffic can be a real headache some days. Our office is right in the middle of all that market energy, so there is always something going on outside our door. People are constantly moving goods and shouting to one another, and it stays like that from morning until late at night. We started Kalim International as a way to handle trading, and we have been in this same spot for a while. The building is older and has its quirks, like the narrow stairs and the way the lights flicker sometimes when it rains. We don't have any fancy signs or a big lobby. It’s mostly just us at our desks surrounded by files and samples. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to the local transporters who bring things in and out of the market. It is a very practical place to work, even if it gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of inventory sitting around. We like being near the city because it makes it easier to get things moved, but we also like the local feel of the Bhagabatipur area. It’s just a normal business day for us every day and we don't think too much about being anything other than a local shop doing its work.
