Bengal Saree House

We've been running the Bengal Saree House here in Kataganj for a while now. The shop is located in Jonepur, right in the North 24 Parganas area near Kanchrapara. It’s not a huge place, but we keep a good variety of sarees for the local ladies who live around here. Most days start early, getting things dusted and ready for whoever walks through the door. Sometimes it’s busy, and other times it’s just quiet conversation with neighbors. The address is easy to find if you know the Kataganj area. We try to keep things simple. You won't find fancy lights or big displays, just stacks of fabric and a place to sit while you look at different patterns. It is what it is, a local shop where we know many of the faces. People come in looking for something specific for a wedding or just a daily wear saree. We show what we have on the shelves, and if they like it, they take it. Dealing with the humidity in North 24 Parganas is just part of the job. We have been in this spot for some time, and it feels like part of the furniture now.
