Down in Kumund Nagar, things move a bit slower than in the city. We are based in this village, near the Nasra post office in the Nadia district. Our building is a simple one, surrounded by a bit of open space which is nice when the weather is good. We handle a lot of different things here, mostly stuff that farmers and local people need. It’s not uncommon to see a tractor parked outside or someone walking by with their livestock. Inside, it’s mostly open floor space and some basic wooden desks where we handle the paperwork. We don't use much technology, just the basics to get by. Most of the people working here are from the village itself, so we all know each other’s families and what’s going on in the neighborhood. The walls are a bit stained from the monsoon rains last year but we haven't had time to fix it yet. We spend our days checking on the storage and making sure things aren't getting damp. It’s a quiet life but there’s always work to be done. We don't have a website or a marketing person, we just rely on people knowing who we are and where to find us. If you come by in the afternoon, you’ll probably find us sitting in the shade for a bit of a break before the evening chores begin and the sun starts to go down.
