Santhome Industries

Santhome Industries is situated out in Ganangoor, specifically K. Shettahalli, right along the Bangalore-Mysore Highway. It’s a good location for us because the highway makes it easy to move our products back and forth between the two cities. The facility is a mix of a warehouse and a small production area. You can hear the constant sound of cars and buses zooming past outside, but inside we are just focused on our own daily work. We have a small team here, and everyone knows what they need to do without being told too much. It’s a practical setup with concrete floors and high ceilings to keep things a bit cooler during the day. We get a lot of dust from the road, so we are always having to clean the machines and the floor. Our gate is right off the main road, but you have to be careful when pulling out because of the speed of the traffic. Most of our days start quite early, around 7 or 8, to beat the heat and get a head start. We have a little area out back where we take our breaks and have some tea together. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s steady work and it pays the bills. We don't spend money on fancy signs or marketing; we just rely on our existing contacts and the fact that we are easy to find. The highway is like the lifeblood for us.
