About Mangalore Engineer Works – Engineering in Mysuru
Mangalore Engineer Works is situated at No 21/D in the Industrial Suburb. We are in the 111 Stage area of Mysore South. This part of the city is dedicated to workshops and small factories, so you will hear the sound of welding and grinding from every direction. Our place is a sturdy old building with high ceilings and big metal doors that we slide open every morning at eight. It is a bit of a commute for some of us, but the industrial suburb is where all the real engineering work happens. The floor is concrete and usually has a few oil stains here and there from the machines. We focus on mechanical work, and the shop is filled with lathes, drills, and heavy worktables. It’s not a clean environment by any means, but it’s where things get built and fixed properly. We’ve got a small corner with a table and a few chairs where we have our lunch and talk about the day's tasks. There is no air conditioning, just a few large ceiling fans that hum away while we work. The air smells like metal and grease, which is exactly how an engineering works should smell. We don’t have a fancy reception area. If you come by, you’ll likely find us in our overalls, busy with a project. It’s a straightforward, hardworking shop and we’ve been part of the Mysore South landscape for years.
