Our workshop is at No. 1408 on Hunsur Main Road. It is quite close to the Post Office in Hinkal. Aluminium is light but it takes a lot of work to get the joints right. We spend most of our time measuring and cutting. The floor is usually covered in small metal shavings, no matter how much we sweep. Hinkal has grown a lot lately, and the traffic on Hunsur Main Road is always loud. We don't mind it much. Customers bring in their sketches on scraps of paper, and we try to make what they want. It is a hands-on kind of place. We don't have a receptionist or anything. If you walk in, you just talk to whoever is holding the tools. Sometimes we are out at a site fitting things, so the shop stays locked for an hour or two. We try to get back quickly. It’s a small operation, just a few of us. We’ve been here for a few years now. The post office workers are our neighbors and they are nice people. It’s a good spot to be in for a small shop. We just keep our heads down and get the frames finished for the folks around town.
