Our little center is over in Metagalli, Mysore, and it is usually pretty loud with children running around. If you walk by, you will likely hear some crying or a lot of laughing depending on what time of day it is. We have been in this part of Mysore for a bit now, and the neighbors are used to the morning drop-off chaos. The rooms are filled with toys, colorful rugs, and drawings stuck to the walls with tape that sometimes peels off. It is not a polished corporate office; it is a place for toddlers. We spend our time cleaning up spilled juice and helping kids learn how to share their blocks. Sometimes the days are long, especially when the weather in Mysore is too rainy to go outside. We do not use big fancy words or have complicated systems. We just look after the kids and make sure they are safe while their parents are at work. The staff here are mostly local women who have their own kids and know how it is. We try to keep things organized, but with twenty small children, there is always a bit of a mess somewhere. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the last parent comes to pick up their child in the evening. Most of the parents work nearby in the industrial area, so we see them every day at the gate.
