Dreamhome

Dreamhome is tucked away on Veeraperumal Koil Street in Mylapore. This is one of the older parts of Chennai, so the streets are narrow and there are always people walking to the temples nearby. We have been working from this location for some time now. Our work involves home things, mostly helping people with their small renovation ideas or finding the right bits for their houses. It’s a small office with just enough room for a couple of desks and some samples of tiles or wood. We don't have any big flashy signs. People usually find us because they live in the neighborhood and walk past us every day on their way to the main road. The atmosphere in Mylapore is very specific, with the sound of bells and the smell of flowers from the market. We like being part of that. Our day starts with a cup of coffee and then we look at the plans or the lists of things we need to get done. It isn't a high-pressure place. We take our time to listen to what people want for their homes. Sometimes the street gets blocked by a festival procession, and we just close the door and wait for it to pass. It’s a simple way of doing things. We don't have a huge staff, just a few local people who know how things work in this part of town.
