Yamuna Laghu Udyog & Chura Mill

Being near the Jhaphan Over Bridge means there is a lot of wind and dust sometimes. Yamuna Laghu Udyog & Chura Mill is located in Jhaphan, and we are right on the Belapur Road. Ahiyapur is quite a busy place these days with a lot of new construction. The mill makes a lot of noise throughout the day, but we are used to it by now. We spend our hours checking the machines and making sure the chura is coming out okay for the customers. It’s a small industry, what they call a laghu udyog in our language. There are a few of us here every day doing the heavy lifting. We wear simple clothes because it gets messy with the grain and the husks flying around. The road outside has trucks passing by all the time heading towards the bridge or the main highway. Sometimes we stand outside just to get some fresh air and watch the world go by for a minute. The shop is right there on the property. We don't have a big glowing sign, but people find us easily enough. It’s a practical space designed for work. We keep the floor swept, though it’s hard with all the bags being moved around. It’s been here for a while and we know the neighbors well. If you are coming from the Ahiyapur side, you just look for the bridge and we are right there. It’s a straightforward business. We don't do anything complicated. Just milling and packing grains.
