The Pride Hotel

We’ve got this spot in Ahmedabad, though the paperwork sometimes lists things a bit strangely like the pincode 841301. We are right in the middle of the city action. It’s a busy hotel and there is always something going on, whether it’s a wedding party arriving or someone checking in late after a long flight. Our staff are mostly local people who know the city inside and out. We don’t go in for all that polished corporate talk you see in brochures. We just want to make sure the rooms are clean and the food in the kitchen is hot when it’s supposed to be. Some days are more chaotic than others, especially when there’s a big event in town and everyone wants a room at the same time. We just deal with it one person at a time. The building itself has been around for a while, and we do our best to keep everything working right. If a lightbulb goes out or a tap leaks, we fix it. It’s not a perfect place, but it’s a real one. We spend a lot of time just talking to guests and making sure they know where the good local food is. It’s a lot of work running a place this size, but we’ve got a good rhythm going now. We just show up, do the job, and try to be helpful for anyone who needs a bed.
