Subh Laxmi Dal Mill

We have been running Subh Laxmi Dal Mill for quite a while now. We are located right on the Main Road in Sitamadi, so it is usually pretty busy outside our doors. It is a simple place, mostly just the machinery and some space for the bags. My family has been doing this work for years. We don't have any big corporate ideas or fancy slogans. We just get up early and start the machines. The dust from the dal is everywhere, but you get used to it after a few days. Sitamadi is a small enough place where news travels fast, so people just know where we are. If you walk down the Main Road, you can’t really miss us. The building isn't much to look at, just old bricks and a big gate. Sometimes the equipment breaks down and we have to spend all day fixing it ourselves. It is just the way things go when you run a mill. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. If you need us, you just come to the front and shout over the noise. We have been here through the rains and the heat every single year. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It is a decent way to make a living and we are glad to be here in our spot on the road. It keeps us busy and that is all we really want at the end of the day.
