Laxman Ice Factory

Laxman Ice Factory is over at Gausala Chowk in Dumra. We are situated right near the Sita Birth Jhanki, which is a place most people around here know well. We aren't really a retail shop where you come for a single cone; we are a factory through and through. Our main job is making large blocks of ice and bulk batches for the local vendors. The building is a bit old, and the walls have some cracks, but the cooling system is strong. It’s a loud place because of the heavy compressors running day and night. We have a small crew of workers who have been with us for years. We spend our days lifting heavy molds and making sure the water is clean. It’s physically demanding work, and we are usually covered in frost or sweating from the humidity. There’s no office with air conditioning here; we just sit on plastic chairs near the loading dock when we take a break. We don't do any advertising. People know where we are when they need ice for a wedding or a big event in Dumra. It’s a simple, rugged business. We focus on the production and don't worry much about the rest. If the ice is solid and the temperature is right, we’ve done our job for the day and can head home for some rest.
