You can find Gupta Rice. at Shop No-143 in the Kanhauli Bazar area of Sitamarhi. We are right near the police station, so it is a pretty safe and easy-to-find spot in the market. Being in a bazar means it is always noisy and there are people everywhere. Our shop isn't huge, but we pack it full of rice sacks from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in because there is so much stock. We have been here in Sitamarhi for a long time, and we know most of the other shopkeepers around us. We don't have a mill here at the shop, we just sell what comes in from the local producers. It is a lot of haggling and talking to customers all day long. Some days are slow and we just sit on the stools outside and watch the people go by. Other days, we don't even have time to eat lunch because there is a line. We don't use any fancy scales, just the ones that have worked for us for years. My son helps me out with the heavy lifting because my back isn't what it used to be. We don't have a big sign or any bright lights. People just know us by the shop number and the quality of what we have in the bags. It is a simple life in the market and we like it.
