Bhagwati Steel

Our spot is called Bhagwati Steel and we are located right in the middle of Bhagwan Bazaar in Chapra. If you’ve ever been to the bazaar, you know how loud and crowded it gets. There is always someone shouting or a cart moving past the door. We deal with steel, so there is plenty of clanging and heavy lifting throughout the day. The shop is tucked into the N.S-Bhagwati Steel section of the market. It’s not the easiest place to keep clean because of all the metal and the dust from the street, but we do what we can every day. People come in looking for specific sizes or types of steel for their own building projects. We don't do much talking except for what's needed for the job at hand. The bazaar has its own rhythm, and we’ve become a part of it over the years. Some days the heat in Chapra is really something, and working with metal makes it feel even hotter inside the shop. We usually have a fan going, but it doesn't do much when the sun is high. We don't have any flashy displays or anything like that. It’s just stacks of steel and the tools we use. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to this market for years. It’s a hard-working environment, and we like it that way. We just keep our heads down and get the orders ready for everyone who stops by.
