Bhatia Salt Industries

We are over at 18-A in New Mandi. Bhatia Salt Industries has been a part of this market for quite some time. The Mandi is always full of life, especially in the early hours when everyone is getting started. Our place is simple. We have the storage area and a small corner for the accounts. Dealing with salt means things can get a bit dusty, but that’s the nature of it. We don't put on any acts here. If you come by, you'll see us in our work clothes, probably busy with a loading crew. It's a lot of physical work and counting bags. We have our regulars who come in every week, and we always try to have their stuff ready. We aren't trying to change the world or anything. We just want to make sure the salt gets packed and sent out without too much trouble. Sometimes the rain slows us down, which is frustrating, but you can't fight the weather. We just wait it out and start again the next day. It’s a straightforward business. We value the relationships we have with the other traders in the Mandi. It feels like a community here, and we are just happy to be a part of it. Most afternoons we sit by the entrance and watch the trucks roll through. It’s a steady life and we appreciate it.
