Valli Ammal Metric Hgh School

Started the school years ago in Jiaganj. It’s right here in Murshidabad, 742123. The building gets a bit dusty when the wind blows from the fields, but it stays cool inside most of the time. Mostly, we spend our mornings getting the desks straightened out before the kids show up around eight. It’s a metric school, so there is a lot of focus on the older students getting through their exams, though the younger ones keep things noisy. People around Jiaganj know where we are. We don't have a huge playground, but the kids make do with the small space behind the main block. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just open all the windows wide to let the air in. Teachers here live nearby, usually walking or taking a cycle to get to work. It isn't a fancy place with shiny floors. We just have basic classrooms, some blackboards that need a good scrub, and plenty of wooden benches. You can hear the market nearby if you sit in the front rooms during the day. We keep a register for everything, and it’s mostly hand-written in big blue books. It is just a regular school where things happen day by day. Nothing too complicated about how we run things here. Just making sure lessons get done and the gates are locked on time. If you walk down the main road in Jiaganj, you’ll find us easily enough. We have been part of this neighborhood for a while now.
