We are located right near the PWD office in Islampur, over at 1 Netaji Park. If you walk by Samim Spice And Food Products, you’ll probably smell us before you see us. The scent of ground turmeric, chili, and cumin is pretty much stuck in our clothes and the walls. It’s a busy little corner of Murshidabad, and there’s always people walking by on their way to the government offices. Our shop isn't very big, so we have to be smart about where we put everything. We spend our days grinding spices and packing them into smaller bags. The machines make a lot of noise, so you have to yell a bit if you want to be heard when they’re running. It gets pretty dusty, and we’re constantly sweeping the floor, but it’s a losing battle most days. We don’t use any fancy advertising. People around here just know us because we’ve been in this spot for a bit. Sometimes the spice dust makes us sneeze, which is a bit of a joke among the staff. We just try to get the bags filled and the orders out to the local shops. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from morning till evening. We’re just regular people trying to run a small spice business without making a big fuss about it.
