Down in the village of Nihalia, near Jiaganj, is where you’ll find Pushpa Dutta Agrotech Pvt Ltd. It’s a quiet place for the most part, except during the harvest season. We are right in the middle of the farming community here. We deal with agrotech stuff, which mostly means helping farmers with what they need for their crops throughout the year. We aren't a big corporation with people in suits. Most of us wear work clothes because we’re often out in the dirt or moving things in the warehouse. The building we use has been there for a long time. It’s got some cracks in the walls, but it stays cool enough inside during the summer. We know the people in Nihalia and the surrounding areas quite well. When someone has a problem with their yield, they come talk to us. We don’t have all the answers, but we try to help out based on what we’ve seen over the years. It’s a lot of talking over the fence or sitting on the porch of the small office. We don’t do any fancy internet ads or anything. People just know we are here. Sometimes the rains make the roads to the village a bit messy, but the trucks still get through eventually. We just take things one day at a time. It’s a simple way to run a business, and it suits the village life just fine for us.
