Islam Metal

Out here in the village of Umarpur, we run Islam Metal. It’s a small metalworking shop near the Ghorsala post office. If you’re looking for us, we are under the Raghunathganj police station jurisdiction. The workshop is mostly just a large shed where we do all kinds of iron and steel work. It’s a very loud place. There is always the sound of someone hammering or the screech of a metal cutter. We work with scrap metal quite a bit, turning it into things people can actually use around their farms or homes. The air inside is always a bit smoky from the welding. We don't have any fancy office space. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to find us near the forge with our sleeves rolled up. My hands are almost always stained with grease and rust. We live right nearby, so the commute is just a short walk through the village. Life in Umarpur is pretty slow, but the work here is anything but that. It’s physically demanding and we are usually exhausted by the time the sun sets. We don’t have a website or a big marketing plan. People in the village and the surrounding areas just know that we do honest metal work. Sometimes we fix a broken plow or a gate for a neighbor. It’s just steady, heavy work that keeps us going through the year.
