Our workshop and office are at 8, Nandolia Niketan. We are located on J.P. Nagar Road, Number 1, right in Goregaon East. It is a very industrial area. There is always the sound of metal hitting metal or the hum of welding machines coming from nearby units. We do a lot of engineering work and supply welding equipment to different firms. The floor is usually covered in some kind of dust or metal shavings. We don't wear fancy clothes here because they would just get ruined in an hour. It’s a place for people who don't mind getting their hands dirty. We have a few desks tucked in the corner for the paperwork, but the real work happens out on the shop floor. The road outside is narrow and often blocked by delivery trucks. We’ve learned to be patient with the logistics of Goregaon over the years. It’s hot in the afternoons, especially with the machinery running. We have a couple of large fans that just move the warm air around. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a sleek office. We just want to make sure the parts are right and the machines are working properly. We take our lunch breaks together and talk about the jobs we have lined up for the next week. It’s a straightforward life in the engineering trade. We just keep our heads down and finish the work as it comes in.
