Venkatakrishnan

Venkatakrishnan has his setup on the second floor of the Kavitha building. It’s located in Chheda Nagar, which is a well-known part of Chembur in Mumbai. Being up on the second floor gives us a bit of a view of the street, though mostly we just see the tops of cars and the occasional tree. Chembur is a big area, but Chheda Nagar has a specific feel to it, a bit quieter than the main roads but still very much Mumbai. Venkatakrishnan is the person behind the name, and he’s been at this for years. The office at number 10 is filled with books and files, and there’s usually a radio playing softly in the background. It’s a very practical space. We don’t have any fancy glass walls or modern art. It’s just a place to work. The commute to 400089 can be a bit of a headache with the traffic on the Eastern Express Highway, but we make it work. Most people who come to see us are locals from the neighborhood or people who have known Venkatakrishnan for a long time. We spend our days answering the phone and typing up documents. It’s a steady kind of life. We aren't trying to change the world; we’re just trying to do our jobs well and be helpful when we can. It’s a simple, human way of doing business in a very busy city. We take it one day at a time here in Chembur.
