Unique Academy

Our place is Room No 1 on the ground floor of Building No 29 in the BDD Chawl on N M Joshi Marg. This is in the Lower Parel area of Mumbai, not far from the Bawla Masjid. If you know anything about the BDD Chawls, you know they are very busy and full of life. There is always something happening right outside our door. Our room is quite small, but it’s where we do all our work. We’ve been here for a while and have become part of the daily life of the building. You can hear neighbors talking and kids playing in the open areas nearby. It’s a very different vibe compared to the fancy office towers you see just a few blocks away in the rest of Lower Parel. We don't have any corporate branding or glass partitions. It’s just a simple room with our equipment and files. The N M Joshi Marg road stays busy with traffic all day, but inside the chawl, it feels like its own little world. We like being here because it feels real and grounded. There’s no pretense about it. We just open up in the morning and get to our tasks. Finding us can be a bit of a challenge for someone not familiar with the chawl layout, but once they see the Bawla Masjid, they are usually on the right track. It’s a very humble, local place to work.
