Twenty One Honda

We are set up at Unit No. 4 in the Virat Engineering area. It’s part of the Old Sonal Industrial Estate in Powai. If you are coming by bus, the Tunga Village Bus Stop is the best landmark because we are right there. At Twenty One Honda, we mostly deal with motorcycles and scooters. The workshop is always full of bikes in various states of being fixed. There’s always the smell of petrol and oil in the air, which you stop noticing after the first hour. It’s a functional space with tools scattered across the benches. We have a small desk where we keep the keys and the logbooks, but mostly we are out on the floor. The lights overhead flicker a bit, but we have enough light to see what we are doing. The estate itself is quite old, so the buildings have a lot of character, or at least that’s what we call it. It gets a bit crowded when a shipment of parts arrives. We have a small group of mechanics who have been here since we opened this unit. We don’t have a big sign or anything, just the address on the door. It’s a busy spot because of the traffic in Powai. We just keep our heads down and get the bikes back on the road. It’s a regular routine and it keeps us on our toes. Sometimes the tea runs out before the work does.
