Being out here at Plot No. A-29 in the Ambad MIDC area means we are surrounded by other shops and factories. It’s a noisy place, but that’s just how industrial zones are. At Tetra Engineers Pvt. Ltd., we spend most of our time on the shop floor. It gets pretty hot during the afternoons, especially when all the machines are running at once. We’ve got a team that’s been together for a long time. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to. Most of the real work happens with our hands and the heavy gear we keep in the back. There’s always the smell of cutting oil and metal shavings in the air. We keep a ledger for everything, though sometimes it’s hard to find a pen that works. Our gates open early and stay open until the job is done for the day. We don't have fancy brochures. If someone asks what we do, we just show them the parts we’re working on right then. It’s a practical way to live. The trucks come in and out of the MIDC area all day long, bringing materials or taking away finished pieces. We just keep our heads down and focus on the task at hand. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we know how to do. We’ve seen the area change over the years, but our plot stays about the same. It is home.
