Swapnil V Kapote Clinic is up on the first floor of the Lalan Building, right at Panch Rasta. We focus on the Datta Traya Cancer Care and chemotherapy day care, which is a specific kind of place to run. It’s not the easiest work, but it’s what we do here every day. The intersection at Panch Rasta is always jammed with cars, so we tell people to leave a bit early if they have an appointment. We have a few chairs set up for the day care area where people sit for their sessions. It’s quiet inside because people are usually resting or just waiting. I try to make sure the light bulbs are all working because a dim room feels gloomy. We see the same people week after week, so you end up hearing a lot of stories about their kids or their gardens. It's a small team here. We don't have a big reception desk with a computer system that never breaks; sometimes we just use a notebook. Being in the Lalan Building is convenient since there’s a chemist nearby. We’ve been at this location for a while now. The stairs can be a bit steep for some, so we move slowly. It’s just a regular clinic trying to help people get through their treatments without too much fuss. We stay until the last patient is done, even if it’s getting dark outside. Sometimes the lift in the building is slow, but we just make do with what we have.
