Sunder Marketing is tucked away on the 2nd floor of Pragati Industrial Estate. If you know N.M. Joshi Marg, you know how busy it gets with all the people and vehicles moving through Lower Parel. Getting up to our office involves a bit of a climb, and the hallway always smells like whatever the neighbors are manufacturing that day. It's an old building, so the walls have seen better days. Inside, there are desks piled with papers and boxes stacked against the corners. Delisle Road is right there, so the sounds of the city never really stop. We spend our hours on the phone or checking lists of what needs to be sent out. It’s mostly just us keeping track of orders and making sure the inventory matches what the records say. There’s a small fan that rattles in the corner, trying to keep the air moving during the humid afternoons. We usually eat lunch at our desks or go down to the local stalls if there’s time. The elevator breaks down sometimes, so we've gotten used to carrying things by hand. It’s not a quiet job, but it’s what we do here in this part of Mumbai. We’ve been in this industrial estate for a long time, so we know the other shop owners and the guys who deliver the tea. It’s a busy, cramped space but we manage to get through the daily tasks and shipping schedules.
