I work as a service engineer and my home base is in Dombivali West, specifically at the Ramvardayani Gaodevi Society. It is a small place, Chawl Number 1, Room Number 4, in the Garibacha Vada area. If you know Dombivali at all, you know it is a crowded place and the trains are always packed during the rush hours. I spend a lot of time traveling around Thane and other parts of the region to fix things for people at their homes or offices. My room is where I keep my tools, my spare parts, and all my technical manuals. It is not a big office with a secretary or anything like that. It is just me and my bike, going from one site to another to handle repairs. Sometimes I am out all day and do not get back until very late at night. The neighborhood is very lively, with neighbors always talking and kids playing in the narrow lanes. It can be noisy, but it is home and everyone knows each other. When I am not on the road, I am usually sitting at my small desk trying to figure out a difficult repair or writing down what I did for the day in my logbook. Being a service engineer means people only call you when something is broken, so I see a lot of frustrated folks. I just try to do my job and get their machines running again. It is a simple life, mostly focused on mechanical problems and the daily commute.
