S. U. Engineers

Down in Malad West, inside the Daruwala Compound, you can find S. U. Engineers. We are right near the Axis Bank on S. V. Road, which is a very crowded and busy part of Mumbai. If you know the area, you know how the traffic can get. Our workshop is tucked into the compound, and it’s always filled with the sounds of grinding and machining. It’s a tight space, but we’ve managed to fit all our equipment in over the years. We deal with engineering bits and pieces that most people wouldn’t even recognize. The air is always a bit heavy with the smell of machine oil. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to answer the phones in a professional voice. Usually, if the phone rings, someone wipes their hands on a rag before picking it up. It’s a bit of a maze getting into the compound sometimes, especially when there are deliveries being made. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, with new buildings going up, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. We just keep doing the engineering tasks that come our way. People come to us because they know we’re right here on S. V. Road and we’ve been here for ages. It isn't glamorous, but it’s what we do. We just focus on the machines and getting the measurements right.
