Relience Communication

Being at 378 Kalbadevi Road is quite an experience every single day. Relience Communication is right in the thick of the Kalbadevi market chaos. If you’ve ever been here, you know how the handcarts and the motorbikes are always fighting for space. Our shop is just a little slice of that. We handle mostly SIM cards, phone repairs, and all the small gadgets people need. The walls were painted blue years ago and they’ve faded to a sort of grey now. I spend a lot of my day standing behind the counter talking to people who are just passing through. It gets very dusty because of all the traffic and the construction work that never seems to end. We have a small drawer for tools that is always a mess, no matter how much I try to organize it. The ceiling fan is old and makes a lot of noise, but it keeps the air moving. Lunch is usually a quick affair because someone always walks in right when I open my tiffin. I’ve lived around here most of my life so I know the shortcuts through the lanes. Business is okay, it has its ups and downs like anything else. We stay open late because Kalbadevi never really sleeps until very late at night. It’s just a regular day-to-day grind for us here at the shop. I think I will need to get the shutter oiled next week as it is getting hard to pull down in the mornings.
