Our workshop is over in Subhash Nagar, right inside the Khalsa Compound in Bhandup West. It’s in the Shiv Sagar Industrial area, so there is always the sound of machines and metal hitting metal around here. We’ve got a bunch of tools and machines that have been with us for years. The floor usually has a bit of oil or dust on it, which is just part of the job when you’re fixing things or putting parts together. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s where we get things done. Most of us have grease on our hands by noon. We don’t spend much time in an office; we are mostly out on the floor. It can get pretty hot under the shed during the summer months, but the work doesn't stop. People bring us all sorts of engineering jobs, some small and some that take a few days to figure out. We just look at what needs fixing and get to it. Bhandup is a busy place for industry, and we fit right in with the rest of the shops in this compound. It’s practical work for practical people. We don’t have a big marketing team, just our hands and the machines we know how to use. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. That is just how it is.
