Prof Bodkes Classes

I spend most of my day here at Universal Estate, specifically in room 107 on the first floor. It is an old building on J P Road in Andheri West. If you know Wadia High School, we are just right there. Most mornings start with the sound of traffic from the main road. It gets quite loud outside, but once you are inside the room, things settle down a bit. The hallway is narrow and sometimes the lighting is a bit dim until you get to our door. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. The walls have some marks on them from moving furniture around, and the chairs are the sturdy wooden kind that last forever. It isn’t a fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. It is just a practical space where we keep our books and registers. We have some cupboards filled with old notes and files that have been sitting there for years. The windows look out towards the street, and you can see people rushing to work or kids walking to the school nearby. It feels like a very normal part of Mumbai life. I usually keep a kettle in the corner for tea because the afternoons can get long. People find us easily because of the landmark, but the stairs can be a bit steep if you are carrying heavy bags. It is just a simple place for work.
