Our workshop is at 119 Shanta Industrial Premises in Goregaon East. We’re part of the Sayona Estate, tucked inside the Bansidahr Mill Compound on Naroda Road. It’s a massive area and can be hard to find if you’re not looking for the signs. We’ve been here for several years now, doing engineering work. The space is big, with high ceilings, which helps when it gets hot in the afternoons. We have some heavy machinery that makes a lot of noise, so we usually have to shout to hear each other over the clanking. It’s mostly metal work and repairs we handle. The floor is concrete and has some oil stains that won't ever come out, no matter how much we scrub. We get our tea from the stall just outside the main gate, and that’s where we spend most of our breaks, just talking about the day’s tasks. There are a lot of other businesses in this compound, so there’s always trucks coming and going, delivering raw materials or picking up finished parts. It’s a tough environment, but we’re a good team and we get the job done without too much fuss. We don’t have any fancy brochures or a marketing team. People just know we are here in Goregaon and they bring their stuff when it needs fixing or making. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday, sometimes even Sundays if there's a rush.
