Pantjili Chikistalay

Pantjili Chikistalay is located at Shop No 23. We are in the Miranda Baithy Chawl over in Dadar West, near the Opera House area. It is a historic part of town, and the chawl has its own charm. The shop is not very big, but we make the most of the small space we have. We have got some benches for people to sit on while they wait for their turn. It can get pretty warm in the afternoons, but we have a good fan that keeps the air moving. Most of the people who come here live in the nearby buildings. We have been here long enough that we know most of the families around the block. I spend a lot of time sorting through the supplies we get from our vendors. It is a lot of manual work, moving things around and making sure nothing is expired. We do not have a website or anything like that; we just open the shutter and wait for people to arrive. Dadar is always full of energy, and being near the Opera House means there is always someone walking by the shop. We just try to be helpful and keep the shop running smoothly every day. It is a modest place, but it works for us. We are not looking to expand or do anything big. We just want to keep serving the community like we always have for years.
