The clinic is located in Devine House, specifically in Room No 11 on the ground floor in Mahim. It’s a modest little place where we see people throughout the day. The waiting area has just enough chairs for a few people, and there are some old magazines on the table that nobody really reads. We have been working out of this room for many years. The walls are painted a light shade that has faded over time. There’s a steady hum from the ceiling fan that helps keep the heat away. Mahim is a busy area, so there is always some noise from the traffic outside, but inside we try to keep things calm. Our records are all kept in old-fashioned folders in a tall metal cabinet. It’s not a high-tech medical center; it’s just a local doctor’s office. We see a lot of regular faces from the neighborhood. Sometimes the schedule gets backed up and people have to wait longer than they’d like. We don't have a receptionist in a suit or a fancy computer system. It’s just about listening to people and trying to help them feel better. We have a small washbasin in the corner and a desk piled with medical journals. It’s a very practical environment. We come in every morning, open up the shutters, and start the day’s work without any fuss.
