If you know the Opera House area, you know how busy it gets around the Panchraten Building. We are in unit number 209, right in the thick of it. Sarjan Exports has been operating from this spot for a while, and it’s definitely a lively place to be. The building is always full of people moving around, especially with all the diamond and trade businesses nearby. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes if you aren’t used to it. Our office is fairly small, but we’ve packed it with all our files and samples. The air conditioner usually hums in the background to keep out the Mumbai heat, which can get pretty intense in the afternoons. We spend our hours mostly on the phone or dealing with local couriers who come in and out all day long. It's the kind of place where the phone is always ringing and someone is always looking for a misplaced pen or a specific file. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just come in, do the work of exporting, and try to keep things moving along with the timing. Lunch is usually something quick from a nearby stall because there’s always something else to finish. By the time the sun starts going down, the building gets a little quieter, and we finally get a chance to catch up on the day’s records before heading out.
