Ocean Diving Centre Ltd is at 57 Nariman Road. It’s an interesting spot to have a diving business because you wouldn't necessarily think of scuba gear when you’re walking down this street. But once you step inside, the vibe changes completely. We have tanks lined up against the wall and suits hanging up to dry. It smells a bit like neoprene and saltwater in here, which I actually quite like. It’s not a fancy boutique; it’s a working shop where we keep our equipment ready for the next trip. We spend a lot of time checking regulators and making sure everything is safe for the water. The shop at number 57 is where we meet up before heading out, and it’s also where we sit around and talk about the best spots we’ve visited lately. We aren't a big corporation with a lot of rules. We are just divers who ended up running a place so we could stay close to the sport. Sometimes the front door gets stuck if the humidity is high, and the floor is usually a bit scuffed from moving heavy gear around. It’s a real place for people who actually like being in the ocean. We don't have a mission statement on the wall, just a few old photos of fish and some maps of the coast that we use to plan our next weekend away.
