Our tutorial center is located in a building that has been part of the neighborhood for a long time. We have a few rooms set up with benches and whiteboards where students come for their extra classes. It is not a fancy coaching institute with bright lights and air conditioning in every room. It’s a simple, practical place where the focus is on the schoolwork. We spend several hours every afternoon and evening helping kids with their various subjects. The noise from the street and the bazaar is something we have just learned to work with over the years. We keep our schedules taped to the wall and our books stacked neatly in the corners. Parents often stop by to talk to us about how their children are doing after they finish their shopping nearby. We’ve seen many groups of students pass through our doors and move on to bigger things. We don't use any complicated teaching methods; we just explain things until the students understand them. It’s a local business that depends on the trust of the families in Borivali. We are just here to do our job and help the kids get through their exams without too much stress. It is a long day but rewarding.
