Our little office is tucked away at G-59 in the E-Block of Simla House. It’s one of those older buildings where everyone knows each other’s names after a while. Morson Engineers isn’t a huge operation with hundreds of employees; it’s just a few of us who really understand the technical side of things. We spend a lot of time hunched over desks looking at drawings or talking on the phone with clients about measurements and materials. The lighting in the office isn't always the best, but we make it work. Simla House has a certain feel to it, a bit lived-in and quiet compared to the main roads. We don’t spend money on big signs or flashy decor. Most of our tools are worn down from years of use, and there’s always a stack of old files in the corner that we’ve been meaning to organize. It’s a practical place for practical work. When someone calls with a problem, we just look at the facts and try to find a way to fix it that makes sense. We don’t use a lot of big words or try to impress anyone. We just want the engineering to be right so nobody has to worry about it later. Sometimes we stay late when a project is due, and the only sound is the hum of the computers and the city outside. It is just a regular engineering life.
