Minerva Motors

Our shop is in the old Bansilal Building on Girgaum Road. It’s right in the Opera House area, which is always noisy with cars and people shouting. Minerva Motors has been here for a long time. You can see the age of the building in the high ceilings and the way the walls look. We handle motor parts and general repairs. It’s a greasy job, so our hands are rarely clean by midday. The traffic outside never really stops. Sometimes it takes forever just to get a car parked near the entrance. We have a lot of regular people who drop in just to chat or ask about a specific part they can’t find anywhere else. The shop floor is covered in shelves that go all the way up. We use a ladder to reach the old stock at the top. It’s dusty up there, but that’s where the rare stuff usually is. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just some old fans that move the hot air around. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the boxes and engine bits. We’ve grown used to the smell of petrol and old metal. Working in Opera House means you’re always in the middle of everything. It's a tough place to work because of the crowd, but we like the energy. We just keep our heads down and keep the motors running because that is what we know how to do best.
