Military Engineer Services

This office is located in the Chitralekha Building, at No. 6 in the RC Church area of Colaba. We are right across from the old Sena Cinema, which is a landmark everyone around here knows. Being in Mumbai, and especially in Colaba, means there is never a quiet moment. Our space is part of the engineering services for the military. It sounds very official, but the day-to-day reality is a lot of paperwork and planning. We spend our time looking at maintenance schedules and building repairs. The building we are in is quite old and has that classic Mumbai feel to it. It has high ceilings and windows that don't always stay open properly. We have a lot of staff coming in and out, mostly engineers and site supervisors. There is always a stack of blueprints on someone’s desk. We don't do much in the way of public relations. Our work is behind the scenes, making sure the infrastructure stays standing. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we just treat it like any other job. We drink our coffee, attend the briefings, and check the progress on various sites. It’s a busy, functional office without any of the corporate polish you find in the newer parts of the city. We just get the job done and go home through the heavy evening traffic.
