Midtown Motors

Midtown Motors is located over in Byculla, specifically in the Bhor Industrial Building. We are on that stretch of the 3rd Main Road near the Bannargatta Road Cross. If you are familiar with Rani Baugh or the Jijamata Udyan, you are pretty much there. It’s a very busy part of the city, and the industrial building we are in has seen better days, but it’s sturdy enough for the work we do. The noise from the zoo can sometimes be heard if the wind is right, though usually, the sound of engines and traffic drowns everything else out. We moved into this spot because it was central. Dada Byculla B Cross is one of those narrow streets that always has something going on. Our space is filled with the usual stuff you’d expect in a motor shop. There are tools everywhere and parts waiting to be used. We don’t have a receptionist or a waiting lounge with a TV. People usually just stand around or go for a walk while we work on their stuff. The light in the building is a bit dim, so we use a lot of shop lamps to see what we are doing. It’s a regular place for regular people. We’ve known the other tenants in the Bhor building for years. We all just do our own thing. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours, but being near the gardens makes the walk to the station a bit nicer in the evenings.
