Max Engineering

Max Engineering is over at unit 11 in the Damji Shamji Industrial Estate. We’re right on LBS Marg in Vikroli West. This area is full of old industrial units, and ours is one of them. It’s got that specific smell of metal and oil that you only find in places like this. LBS Marg is always packed with trucks and cars, so getting here in the morning can be a bit of a struggle depending on where you're coming from. Once you're inside the estate, it's a bit quieter, but there's still the sound of machines coming from different units. Our space is filled with equipment. We’ve been operating out of number 11 for years. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re too busy with the actual engineering work to worry about that. We have a small crew and everyone knows what they’re supposed to do. It’s physical work and your hands get dirty, but that’s the nature of the job. We don’t do much advertising; most people find us because they know the estate or someone told them about us. We just focus on getting the measurements right and making sure the parts fit. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We have our lunch together most days and then get back to it. It’s not fancy, but it’s what we know how to do best in Vikroli. We hope to stay here for a lot longer.
