Matrix Electrical is located in Tirthankar Compound, which is right off 17th Road in Goregaon East. If you’re looking for us, we’re near Pande Mishras Chawl at number 20. It’s a busy neighborhood and there’s always something going on outside our gate. Our workshop is full of spools of wire, testers, and boxes of electrical components that seem to multiply when we aren't looking. The space is a bit cramped, especially when we have a big order ready to go out. We’ve been in this compound for a while, and the walls have seen a lot of repairs. During the monsoon, the rain hits the metal roof so loud that we can barely hear the phones ringing. We usually have a pot of tea going somewhere in the back. The guys spend most of their time hunched over workbenches, fixing circuits or assembling panels. It’s honest work and it keeps us on our toes. We don't really have a big corporate structure here. If a problem comes up, we just get together and talk it out until it’s fixed. Sometimes the power goes out in the area, and we all just sit around for a bit until it comes back on, which is funny considering what we do. It’s a tight-knit group and we know all the local shopkeepers around the chawl. It feels like home even when the work gets stressful and the deadlines start creeping up.
