Panchal India

Panchal India is located in the Janata Industries Compound, which is on SB Road in Lower Parel West. If you know Mumbai, you know how much this area has changed with all the big malls and glass towers, but our compound still feels like the old days. It’s a bit of a maze to get into B-4, and the buildings are quite old with lots of pipes and wires running along the walls. We do a lot of manufacturing work here, mostly metal parts and components. The ceilings are high but the space is packed with tools, raw materials, and half-finished projects. It’s always a bit dark inside until we turn on the overhead lights. The sound of hammering or grinding is pretty much the soundtrack to our day. We have a small team of workers who have been with us for a long time; we all know the routine. During the lunch hour, everyone sits outside in the shade of the building to get some air. The traffic on SB Road is always a nightmare, so we try to get our deliveries done early in the morning before the whole place jams up. We don't have a showroom or a website that looks like a magazine; we just have our workshop where we make things. It’s a bit of a grit-and-grind type of life, but we like being in the heart of the city after all these years. It's just how we work.
