I Design Print

We are tucked away in the Mathuradas Mills Compound over at No. 44 in the Ideal Industrial Estate. It’s a busy part of Lower Parel on Senapati Bapat Marg, so there is always something going on outside our doors. Inside I Design Print, it’s usually the sound of the machines running and the smell of ink and fresh paper. We’ve been in this compound for quite a bit now. The space isn’t huge, but it fits all our printing gear and the big tables where we trim everything down to size. It gets pretty cramped when a big delivery of paper arrives, and we have to shuffle things around to make a path. Most of the time, it's just us looking at screens or checking how the colors came out on a sheet of paper. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything; you just walk in and we're right there working. The stairs up to our unit can be a bit steep if you're carrying a heavy box, but we're used to it. Lower Parel is always crowded, so getting here in the morning is a bit of a trek, but once we’re inside and the machines start up, we just get on with it. We handle a lot of different jobs, some small and some that take a few days. It's a lot of manual work, making sure the cuts are straight and the machines don't jam up on us every hour.
