Lata Exports

Our place is at 413 F Vasantwadi on the second floor. It’s right on Kalbadevi Road, which is probably one of the busiest trading spots you can find. Lata Exports has been tucked away in this building for a while now. If you come to visit, you have to navigate through the crowds of shoppers and delivery carts downstairs. Once you get up to the second floor, it’s a bit more manageable. The office is basically just a room filled with samples, ledgers, and a couple of desks. We handle exports, which means a lot of checking quality and packing things up. It gets really hot in the summer, and we usually have the fans going full blast. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. Whoever is closest to the door opens it. We talk to a lot of different people every day, from manufacturers to truck drivers. It’s a constant stream of work. Sometimes we find ourselves working late on a Saturday to finish up a big order. There isn't much room for relaxing here, but we enjoy the pace. We know the other traders in Vasantwadi and often share tips about shipping or weather delays. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, right in the heart of the old market area. We just keep moving forward, handling one box at a time and making sure the labels are correct.
